Australia has one of the highest rates of skin cancer in the world. Around 2 out of every 3 Australians will be diagnosed with some form of skin cancer during their lifetime.

Non-melanoma skin cancers (NMSC) account for about 99% of all skin cancers, making them the most commonly diagnosed cancers in Australia.

Melanoma is less common but more dangerous. It is the third most commonly diagnosed cancer in Australia, after prostate and breast cancer, and is the tenth leading cause of cancer-related death.
